Ljubljana is proud of its past, including the times of the Roman town of Emona (the present-day Ljubljana) and the medieval times, when the Ljubljana Castle was built on the hill in the heart of the capital… this is the period your children will get to know while enjoying some of the activities available at the castle. The adventure, which starts with a funicular ride to the castle hill and continues in the shelter of the mighty walls of the Ljubljana Castle, will impress all children who dream of one day becoming knights. Inside the knights’ tent and using some real knights’ gear the little visitors will have an opportunity to let their imagination run wild and try their hands at using swords, archery and medieval arts, sit on the imperial throne, and compete with others looking for coins… travel back in time and let your children’s imagination run wild.

On 26 August, Vlado Kreslin, one of Slovenia’s most acclaimed musicians, is celebrating twenty-five since he started his music career. In the romantic setting of a former knights’ complex, you will get to listed to the authentic sounds of the Slovenian north-eastern region of Prekmurje, when Vlado Kreslin takes the stage which the SAF Military Band and his long-running band Mali bogovi with the same band members that debuted on the very same stage in 1991. With some surprise guests from Slovenia and abroad, the jubilee event will no doubt be a real musical treat and an authentic Slovenian experience you will not want to miss.
