Grand Hotel Union’s New Head Chef
Zdravko Perić is the new Head Chef of Grand Hotel Union’s kitchen, which will feature culinary masterpieces largely inspired by the Mediterranean.
Zdravko Perić is a chef extraordinaire who is very passionate about the culinary arts and although he loves all kinds of food, his favourite is Mediterranean cuisine. In fact, it has been ever since his childhood spent in Croatia, which profoundly influenced his love of Mediterranean flavours. He fully embraced his love of culinary creativity during the time spent as a trainee chef in Germany, from where he ventured across the pond, to the United States, where he entered a culinary educational institution for the first time, focusing on the secrets of French cuisine. In Arizona, where he attended the Scottsdale Culinary Institute, his great desire and passion for work contributed to his rapid progress, but in spite of all the accolades he has received he still feels his greatest success are satisfied guests.
Zdravko is a master chef, who has held a number of important positions throughout his career. In the past, he has been in charge of numerous kitchens in hotels all over Croatia and Montenegro, and with his wealth of experience he is now continuing at Grand Hotel Union. He has taken over as the head chef of the hotel’s kitchen, where he will be responsible for both a wide range of delicious and sophisticated culinary treats at events held in the conference centre and the menus of the food and beverage outlets (Unionski Vrt Restaurant and Grand Union Café), as well as room service.
His focus will remain on healthy food options and local ingredients, which have been one of the top priorities in Union Hotels’ kitchens for a while. Despite his wealth of experience and numerous culinary masterpieces, master chef Zdravko swears by simple food, which he adds a bit of his signature character to by focusing on sophisticated details. He promises the menus offered in Grand Hotel Union will be anything but unvaried.
His fresh culinary delights can already be enjoyed in the Unionski Vrt Restaurant and Lounge and his gala menu will be debuted on 9 February, after a concert by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
