The performance of Nova Schola Labacensis would like to present a cross-cultural richness and diversity through a dialogue of Oriental and Occidental musical traditions.

The first part of the program will present the highlights of European Baroque music by J.-B. Lully, H. Purcell, C. Monteverdi and G.G. Kapsberger. The second part concists of the classical Arabic tradition of Andalusian muwashahat and selected songs of Afghan, Persian and Ottoman heritage, which were composed also by a Moldovan prince Dimitrie Cantemir and Polish musician Ali Bey Ufki (Wojcieh Bobowski) at the Sultan’s court in Istanbul.

The concert is dedicated to the memory of excellent Slovene singer Marjan Trček and his memorable lyric tenor.
